All classes run 15 weeks for both fall and spring semesters. We have study groups in the summer months.  Each class is limited to a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 7.

The focus of 100 level classes is pronunciation and listening. Students will learn to read and write the Mandarin Phonetic Symbols (MPS), recite rhymes, songs, and simple conversational phrases. The focus of 101 and above is conversation and reading/writing Chinese characters. All  supplemental materials (handouts and sound files) are available as downloads from this website.
